Aquila Game Reserve and Spa
This tour takes us in a North , Easterly direction along the N1 past Paarl, through the Huguenot Tunnel and then past Worcester through the beautiful Hex River and once through the valley and up the Matroosberg Mountains where we turn left onto R46 and onto Aquila Game Reserve & Spa,  named after the rare and endangered resident Black Eagle and covers ± 10,000 hectare, and for the first time in 250 years the majestic Big 5 now once again roam the Karoo mountains, valleys, rivers and kloofs of the Karoo.
The reserve is set in the Cape`s malaria free fynbos and Renosterveld vegetation area and known for its excellence, and conservation programmes. Aquila offers guests the option of 4 different day trip safari packages with options ranging from the traditional 2 to 3 hour safari game drive to safari`s on horseback or quad bikes.
Other transport options are helicopter and aeroplane flights daily to and from Aquila Game Reserve & Spa. It is advisable to always have warm and waterproof clothing especially in winter and sun screen lotion is a must.
Sanbona Wildlife Reserve
