Pilanesberg Game Reserve - Around (500km²) developed in and around an extinct vokano 27km`s diameter the park is surrounded by six distinct rings of hills with a manmade lake called (Mankwe) or (the place of the leopard) on the Mankwe River. Today the park includes the big 5 including hippopotamus, crocodiles, cheetah, giraffe, caracal, zebra, baboons wild dogs and 12 different species of buck and antelope, various accommodation to suit all is provided by Golden Leopard Rest Camps, Legacy Resorts, Cradle Hotels and Resorts , Black Rhino Game Lodge , Adventure Tented Camp and Pilanesberg Private Lodge.

Sun City - Approximately 40km south of Northern and 145km’s north west of Pretoria and 180km’s north west of Johannesburg- Sun City was the first major casino and holiday resort, the brain child of Sol Kersner a City with in a city, the complex includes the Super Bowl, a huge concert arena, (Sun City convention centre) four luxury hotels including the Palace of the Lost city. Africa’s major (The Ned bank Golf Challenge) is held on one of the two golf courses once a year. Sterkfontein Caves - In the late 1890’s gold miners dynamited the Sterkfontein caves in search of limestone which they converted into quick lime required for processing gold. Their explosions revealed entrances to the cave system around 2.5 billion years ago, the area no known as the Cradle was a shallow inland sea. Of special interest to Paleoanthropologists about 40 km’s northwest of Johannesburg in the province of Gauteng. The Sterkfontein Caves are owned by the University of the Witwatersrand whose scientists continue to unearth fossils on the site. World famous fossils discoveries in the caves include Mrs. Ples (1947) Little Foot (1997), Australopithecus Sediba (2013) and Homo Naledi (2013).

The Cradle of Humankind - The Cradle of Humankind declared a world heritage site in 1999, because of the important fossils discovered at the sites including: 1. Is a Paleonthropological site about 50km North West of Johannesburg – The Maropeag Museum is a mind blowing powerful ride and (boat trip) experience of the origins of mankind. 2. The first adult Australopithecus, found by Dr. Robert Broom at the Sterkfontein in 1936. 3. A second kind of ape-man found at Kromdraai and named Paranthropus robustus by Broom in 1938. 4. The first fossils of a very early human called Telanthropus in 1949 by Broom and John Robinson, associated with paranthropus robustus fossils at Swartkrans. Telanthropus is now classified as Homo ergaster. 5. The first, and so far only, direct association between Homo ergaster (Stw 80) and early Acheulean tools, at Sterkfontein. 6. The oldest stone tools (Oldowan) in Southern Africa, at Sterkfontein 7. The only virtually complete Australopithecus skeleton, “Little Foot “ 8. The longest sample of Australopithecus Africans fossils (at Sterkfontein ) 9. The longest sample of Paranthropus robustus fossils (at Swartkrans) 10. A great number of cave sites containing fossils of our ancestors, their relatives, and the animals that populated their environment.

Cullinan - Cullinan is a small town 30km east of Pretoria named after the diamond magnate Sir Thomas Cullinan where the Largest Gem Quality Diamond of 3,106.75 carats, (known as the Star of Africa) was discovered on the 26th January 1905, by Frederick Wells, surface manager of the premier diamond mining company – The famous diamond was bought by the Transvaal government and presented to King Edward VII. The great Star of Africa is set in the head of England’s Royal Sceptre weighing 530.2 carats and valued at $ 400 million, while the lesser star of Africa, or Cullinan weighing 317.4 carats, valued at $ 250 million forms part of the British Imperial State Crown, both South African diamonds are exhibited at the tower of London. The Cullinan Diamond Mine is a carrot shaped volcanic pipe with a surface area of 32 hectares (79 acres) The Cullinan Diamond Mine is now owned by Petra Diamonds since 2007. The mine is still operational today and offer tourists various tours such as: 1. Village Historical Tour - Journey around the historical village of Cullinan on an old tractor and see all the historical sites. Duration 45 minutes 2. Journey of a diamond – Follow the route of a diamond from the massive big hole to the head gear of the skips that transport the ore from underground to the huge waste material dumps – Duration 1½ hours. 3. Underground tour- a fascinating tour via the elevator down the elevator shaft underground to a depth of 580m in a working mine, now being extended by 354m from its present depth of 580m – The only tour of its kind in the world – duration 4½ hours

The Freedom Park Museum and Heritage Site in Pretoria - Situated on Salvokop in Pretoria the museum includes a memorial with a list of those S. Africans killed in World War I and World War II and the anti-apartheid activists killed during the apartheid era. The museum remains a monument to the African, his legends, ancestors and South Africans rich and colourful history. The nation’s history of 7 so called Epochs. Epoch 1. – Earth – Explores an African perspective on the origins of the universe. Epoch 2. – Ancestors – Explores an Africans view of life and death and their spiritually. Epoch 3. – People – Showcases African innovations and their many vibrant civilisations. Epoch 4. – Resistance and colonisations – documents the indigenous peoples fight against colonisations. Epoch 5. – Industrialisation and urbanisation – highlights not only the Africans resistance but how he adopted to colonial industrialisation and exploitation. Epoch 6. – Nationalisms and Struggle – looks at the struggle for democracy until the beginning of the new South Africa. Epoch 7. – National Building and Continental Buildings – show cases and explores South Africans transition from the tyranny of apartheid to a constitutional democracy.

Voortrekker Monument - Completed and inaugurated in 1949 the 43 metre high granite monument was to commemorate the pioneers called voortrekkers who trekked into the interior of South Africa between 1834 and 1854 in search of freedom and self government. Designed by Gerard Moerdijk the hall of heroes contains 27 magnificent frieze panels depicting the Great Trek, carved from Italian marble. The panels were made by four South African sculptors: Laurika Postma, Hennie Potgieter, Frikkie Kruger and Werner Kirchhoff. In the Cupola in the roof /top there is an opening through which the sun shines on the cenotaph every year on the 16th December exactly at 12h00 on the words. Ons vir jou Suid Africa – ( We for thee, South Africa) – over 400 000 people around the world viewed this phenomenon on media 24’s web page on 16th December 2016. The 2-7 metre high laager wall surrounding the monument consists of 64 wagons as in the battle of the Blood River on the 16th December, 1838 that symbolically protects the monument.A Glorious tribute to the men, woman and children that made the trek into the hinterland.

Union Buildings - Designed by Sir Herbert Baker in 1908, building began in 1909 and was completed in 1913. It took 1,265 workers over 3 years to build and the total cost was £1,310,640 for the building and £350,000 for the site. Build from light sandstone, the Union Buildings form the official seat of the South African government and also houses the offices of the president of South Africa. The building is surrounded by beautifully terraced gardens of indigenous plants, including the Delwood Wood Memorial and a statue of the country’s first prime minister. General the Rt. hon Louis Botha and the latest sculpture being of Nelson Mandela.

Akwaaba Predator Park - The Akwaaba Predator Park has one of the largest variety of big cats on display in any one enclosed area/farm, situated on a 72 hectare farm 19 km`s outside of Rustenburg, a mere 1½ hours from Johannesburg and a 30 minute drive from Sun City. The predator park is open between 8am and 4pm. With professional guided tours on the hour.
